Visiting Iceland

Seems like everybody lives in Reykjavík. In the city it is active 24 hours a day. It is also light out 24 hours a day. That is somewhat hard to get used to. I wake up at three in the morning, it's light out, people are out in the streets talking to people two blocks away it seems. Not the quietest city to get a good nights rest.
The food is great but plan to bring lots of money. We ate at a great tapas restaurant and when finished, I had eaten, Smoked puffin with blueberry “brennivín” sauce, Icelandic sea-trout with peppers-salsa, Lobster tails baked in garlic, Pan-fried line caught blue ling with lobster sauce, Grilled Icelandic lamb Samfaina, and Minke Whale with cranberry-sauce. Then, for dessert: White chocolate "Skýr" mousse with passion coulis. The proper beverage for such a fine meal? - - beer.
But leave the city and it's like you just stepped on Mars. There is nobody around (except at the tourist traps). But the scenery is beautiful. This is where you want to go with your camera and try to get panoramic pictures.
