We had been camping many times as our kids grew up, but this is the first time we had attempted to bring all of our kids, our foster kids, jwith their families, together in one place to play together, laugh together, and share memories of our past together.
Our first, “official “ reunion would be at Minnesota’s Whitewater State Park Camp Ground, an area we had been to many times in past years.

Part of its appeal of Whitewater is that it lacks mosquitoes, thanks to the abundance of frogs that enjoy the shores of the nearby whitewater river.

But, the vast expanse of outdoor wilderness is really what we want to experience. We check out the Chimney Rock Trail for an awesome view of the Whitewater River. We could climb into the cavity of Chimney Rock itself to get a beautiful view of the expanse beyond.
Electric hookups, water, close by, and clean shower houses and fire grills were available.
A crystal clear, spring feed swimming pond provided for cool relaxation after long hikes. And, it didn’t hurt to know that, on our last day there, we could all drive a couple of miles from camp and enjoy a wonderful breakfast at the towns nice cafe before we headed to our homes.
