And now we return to Seville. In preparation for our return
home we would return to the place that began our journey. It
was our hope that we could find accommodations near the airport
so we could have a less stressful time preparing for a very early
morning departure. It was not to be so. Not finding any available
hotels we again returned to the Murillo to seek help. They too
were booked full but were able to help us make arrangements to
stay in a close by apartment near the Santa Cruz area. We
carried our bags three flights up the narrow staircase of this
very old building to find a fully furnished two-bedroom
apartment with kitchen and living room. Leaving or returning to
our room required pressing a button in the hallways that would
shed light on the darkened walkways, a few seconds at a time.
We were told that we must be in the building by eleven p.m. lest
we be locked out for the night.
How more fitting could it be to once again stroll the avenues
of Seville in search of more tapa bars, there to indulge in an
additional variety of tapa delicacies and to solidify the
memories of Spanish Sangria and Cerveza.
An early flight the next morning required us to let ourselves
out of the apartments locked front doors at 5:00 a.m., securing
them as we left.
